Vintage style cast iron RADIATOR FEET and WALL-STAYS
Reclaimed cast iron radiators are too heavy to be wall mounted and need to be fitted with feet. Our vintage-style saddle feet and brackets are copied from originals and come in several sizes to fit most types of vintage and antique radiators.
Wall-stays secure the radiator to the wall, preventing it from falling forward when knocked. Cast iron radiators are very heavy and can cause a lot of damage to your central heating system if not properly secured.
Normally, you need a pair of feet and one or two wall-stays, depending on the size of the radiator. The brackets are adjustable; additionally, the thread can be cut shorter for smaller radiators.
Feet come in 3 sizes. Adjustable brackets come in 2 sizes. Wall stays plate is engraved with 1883 number, just like the original it is copied from. The antiqued cast iron finish is ready to paint or oil.
Selecting the correct size feet
You need to measure the diameter of round section that goes across the bottom or top the radiator
- Small feet: width of cradle 6 cm, height from cradle to floor 6 cm, overall height 9 cm and width 14 cm
- Medium feet: width of cradle 7 cm, height from cradle to floor 6 cm, overall height 10 cm and width 15 cm
- Large feet: width of cradle 8 cm, height from cradle to floor 6 cm, overall height 10 cm and width 16 cm
Selecting the correct size wall stay
We recommend one wall stay for every 10 sections of radiator - so an 10 section cast iron radiator would require one wall stay, but we'd recommend two wall stays for a 12 section radiator. To select the size, you need to consider the number of columns.
Always err on the safe side and ask advice from your radiator installer before purchasing. If you happen to purchase the wrong size, we are always happy for you to return for a refund or an exchange. If you need further advice from us, please contact us on 01554 77 86 47.
