1 Tools you’ll need
Drill
Screws and rawl plugs
Spirit level
Measuring tape
Pencil
Screwdriver
2 Choose the location; what kind of wall?
For masonry walls, which are constructed from bricks and mortar, a hammer-action drill equipped with a masonry bit is necessary. Additionally, you'll require screws that are at least 50 mm long along with wall plugs to penetrate the plaster and reach the wall behind.
In the case of stud partition walls, the screws should be inserted directly into the timber noggins (the horizontal pieces) or the vertical studs of the frame. You can locate these by tapping and listening for a sound change, or by using an electric stud detector.
. 3. Mark the drill holes
With one hand, lift the shelf onto the wall in the place where you want it to go
Mark your first pilot hole, push your pencil throught the hole in the top left bracket
Put the shelf down
Drill your pilot hole in your pencil mark
Measure the distance between the hole in the left and right bracket
Use this measurement to mark the position of second drill hole
Use your spirit level to ensure both holes will be level

4. Fix the shelf on the wall
Lift the shelf with the spirit level atop on the wall and align the top left bracket with the left pilot hole
Drive the screw through the bracket hole and into the wall
Repeat the operation for the right bracket
Now you will have both hands free to repeat the operation for the bottom brackets
Now step back and admire!
